Upon successful completion of this Module the student will be able to:
1: Demonstrate a knowledge of the historical processes and ideological innovatons underpinning the emergence of a sovereign states' system in Africa
2: Gain a broad overview of the different analytical approaches to studying the international politics of Africa
3: Develop skills in the efficient and effective analysis of core texts and case materials and engagement in group discussions
