Intended learning outcomes:
- Understand the main issues in the fields of (global) energy policy, geopolitics and geoeconomics and how they are interconnected;
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of how energy systems shape global political and economic structures and influence the distribution of power between and within countries;
- Ability to apply academic concepts and theories to case studies drawn from the Global North and South;
- Ability to critically analyse academic and policy documents in the fields of (global) energy policy, geopolitics and geoeconomics;
- Demonstrate the research skills necessary to interpret and assess the ways in which public and private actors respond to the intertwined energy and climate challenge;
- Ability to participate in contemporary debates on global energy policy and geopolitical debates, including those on the energy transition.
